My Buns Are Talking.

I started Crossfit. I got a groupon and decided to give it a go.  My whole body is sore. I have never sweated harder. I have never felt stronger. The trainer always asks me, Lauren are you sore AND of course I say YES! and he replies with, "good your muscles are telling you they are alive."
I respond with... my buns have never communicated so well before.
I have done Insanity, P90X, Jillian Michaels, AND nothing compares to the workout I am getting. I am lifting weights heavier and faster than I thought I could.
For an example, this is what I did in the WOD (workout of the day):
50 pull-ups, 50 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 50 box jumps, 50 Dead-lift, 50 DB snatch...are ya tired yet?  When I got done I couldn't even hold my phone up to my ear because my arms hurt so bad.
If you are up for the challenge give it a try. I wish I continue after the month is over BUT it's $150 per month, sorry not a millionaire, wrong number.
 What I did today:
I got nearly 2,000 fuel points in today's workout.
Here is my moto this month:

Memorial Day.

Happy Memorial Day!
I wanted to write a post to say how grateful I am to all the strong and brave men and women serving our country. Thank you for your sacrifices that you have made that go unappreciated by so many.
I am thankful for all the parents who have their children away serving us. I am thankful for all the wives and husbands who miss their loved one, I can't imagine the strength you must have. I am thankful for all the daughters and sons who wish their mommy or daddy were home with them. I feel blessed to live in such wonderful country! I am proud to be an American! Thank you to all of our  courageous men and women protecting our United States and making it the land of the free.

Princess Sleepover.

I promised Penny a princess sleepover. It consisted of painting nails, styling hair, and lots of make-up.
It was a girly-filled night!
I made a "princess" bed for her, which she loved.
She got in the car with no car seat until we were out of the drive-way and got the car seat from the other car. She felt like a BIG GIRL for a few seconds.
Brushing the teeth during a commercial break of Jurassic Park, she loves scary dinosaurs!
So midnight came fast and our neighbors across the street didn't get the memo that nothing good happens after midnight! They party like crazy! The noise never stops, we have seen guys peeing in bushes, girls crying hysterically, and full out fights. The parties happen at least three nights a week or more. They play their music so loud our house shakes. We yell out the window to be quiet and it doesn't even phase them. I yelled SHUT UP, THE COPS ARE ON THERE WAY! Penny repeated and yelled it over and over again, it was hilar. Instead of threatening to call the cops, Andrew actually did. Ever since the cops came the parties have stopped, THANK YOU
 and cross our fingers.
Morning sunshine. I woke up and looked down at Penny's bed to see if she was awake, and she was staring right at me smiling. I had a feeling someone was looking at me. I thought she would cry or something when she woke up, instead she just laid there staring.
Chocolate milk, all time favorite drink and pretty much the only thing she drinks/eats.
She let's her nails dry better than me...I always end up smudging mine somehow.
Pancakes weren't appetizing until chocolate chips came into the picture.
Andrew was a little stressed about the sleepover, he thought she would cry in the middle of the night for mommy, only because he did that when he was a kid, his mom said he couldn't sleepover at people's houses until he was in the 6th grade. Every time he would attempt to sleepover he would call his parents to be picked up, oh, boy!

The Wild Life.

We went to Wildlife Safari for the FIRST TIME! We hopped in the car (as Penny would say) and drove south to see the wild life. We got up-close and personal a few times on our safari ride.

 I love zebras!
 Baby enjoying himself.
 Yummy in my tummy.
Awww so cute, I wanted to take one home with me, minus the part where it eats me. There were baby lions and they were ador.
Mapping out our safari, we needed Jenny there to train Andrew on how the maps are done.
 Ran into an ostrich...literally.
The bull had an ich?

The girls were the only ones that wanted to ride the camel. It's something I have always wanted to do, along with an elephant ride...come to find out they haven't done those in five years! BUMMERS!
 Bye, Bye boys!
We went around on a more exciting than expected ride with Calvin.
Penny didn't like it to much.
She kept saying, mommy, mommy I want to get off.
Next trip Egypt...we are such pros!
Got a little scared when she got closer and closer.
Penny liked Calvin the camel from afar.
 The crew.

It was a fun filled day on the wild side.
I recommend it for those who haven't been before.

Marathon.

One day a fan the next day the runner.
Perhaps one of these days I will cross the finish line of 26.2 miles, but for now just Crockett.
Bomb peanut butter from local students.
Penny with chocolate all over her face, as usual.
 Uncle Andrew loving the kids.

I think Penny thought the medal was made of chocolate? Yummmy.
Penny got exhausted watching her dad run. Chugging and chugging.
 I ran too...NOT, I am thinking 5k first ha.
I got to start somewhere, right?!
Afterwards we hit up OPH our favorite breakfast place and Cordon's first time.
The bacon is amazing, it's the REAL kind.
The chocolate chip banana pancakes are dangerously good.
The eggs benedict is my new discovery.
I must say the marathon was inspring seeing all ages and all sizes run. I mean ALL ages, I saw 70 year old runners cross the finish line. It made me realize that anyone can do it that puts their mind to it...
endurance, endurance, endurance.
