Ms. Frizzle

Since being back from the reunion I have been working on the backyard. searching&hoping a job will come up. selling things on craigslist. detailing the car. running errands. it's a little scary what one can do with an entire day without doing really anything.

so i have been price checking Target clearance like no ones business. when you have spare time you can do those sorts of things. well it pays off because i kept waiting and waiting for their outdoor furniture to go even MORE on sale and being patient worked in my favor cause i got these chairs for $8. yup. they were regularly $49.99

it doesn't always pay off when waiting for things to go even MORE on sale. for example things have totally sold out and i should have just grabbed it for the 50% instead of holding out for the 75% off. stupid.

i finished our room last week. in this photo is undone...i will have to post updated photos soon.
new nightstands, lamp shades, curtains can really give the room a facelift.

take a look below. the Lexus has never looked better. FIY to get bumper stickers off make sure you use a degreaser spray and a straight razor to get those suckers off. WD40 does NOT work--come to find out YouTubers who swore by it are wrong.

also had a great girls night/brunch/afternoon. hair time. i had heather slap some keratin smoothing treatment on my hair. i think my hair was in def need. if you were wondering what it's called Keratin Express.
what is looks like after washing with a "remove all" shampoo 3 times. and blow drying it.
only takes 20 mins processing time. you can't wash your hair for 72 hours. after your done make sure you use a sulfate free shampoo. the smoothness only last 4 weeks but great news is that isn't non damaging like a lot of smoothing treatments are for us curly heads.

Mr. use to call me Ms.Frizzles when we were 15, guess that was his way of flirting. i straitened my hair for weeks after that.
my hair still has curl though. it just took away the frizz. it has more shine now too. also cuts the time down when styling my hair.

in the past i had used Pravana smoothing treatment and i hated the smell. whenever i got it wet like swimming or washing it my hair reeked.

Happy Anniversary to My Rents.

My parents had their 34th wedding anniversary!

so in honor of their many many years of marriage I decided to do a post of some really hilar/great/never seen before photos of mom and dad.

a couple of weeks ago i went through my uncle doug's photo albums. OMG there was some GREAT photos. i took pictures of the photos with my iphone so i apologize about the blurriness and quality.

My parents first two years of marriage was spent in hawaii (my dad was stationed there in the Navy)

My dad's first job out of the Navy was at Procter&Gamble.

just finished a Black&Tan at Fentons.
mom with baby Ashley
kyle's baby blessing
family reunion "beach club" shirts year.
with grandma and grandpa Whipple.

glad i have parents that were able to set a good example of marriage. my parents set the example of being friends with your spouse. do things together or you will drift apart. find fun things to do together.

my parents are always doing stuff together even if its Home Depot and TCBY or  even a $1 movie and Costco for dinner (all time classic date by dad). we laugh at my dad for these kinds of dates with my mom BUT at least he still wants to do things together even after 34 years.

you know its a love thats strong and true when 7 kids, 6 grandchildren, unemployment, paying for college educations, broken down cars are in the picture. after all the lemons that life brings, my parents seemed to find a way to squeeze out every ounce for some lemonade.

Whipples Take Eugene.

on saturday morning we headed to the saturday's market. if you haven't been it's worth going to at least once in your life. crazy hippies. i had forgotten about hippies. i forgot the smells and the clothes or lack of clothes.

we also went across the street to the farmer's market. i love eugene's farmer's market. maybe because you wait all year for it or the fact it's only open 2 months out of the year. i loved going when we lived there. great breakfast. beautiful flowers. organic produce. yummy treats.

then we headed down a block to voodoo doughnuts. crazy flavors BUT so good. if you go get the maple bacon or the no name (which is topped with chocolate. rice krispies. drizzled peanut butter).

we also hit up hawaiian time even though we weren't even hungry. we just had to for the boys. they always got to get their HT fix while in eugene. it was a great last day all together.

just a few last shots in the car of prettiest baby you ever did see.
don't go see Lone Ranger. just don't.unless you want a nap.

we won't be seeing each other for who knows how long. when you say goodbye it's like saying 'see ya never'. even though eventually we will be all together again before we know it. hopefully a cousin will get married soon. or maybe some family will want to come to palm springs and visit?
