A Friends Christmas.

last week before we all left to our various homes for christmas we had ourselves a little christmas dinner and ugly sweater party. well only three people wore ugly sweaters.
so that part of the party was a bust.
everyone brought a dish.

we ate dinner at candle light and had kenny G pandora station playing in the background.
after dinner we ate cookies and egg nog ice cream while playing a hilar game that all of you should play at a dinner party.

it's easy. you can sit at the table. no fuss.
everyone writes 5+ words that the opposite sex won't know or may be a challenge.
you set the timer for 30 seconds and you pull a word out of the "hat" in our case it was a bowl.
boys vs girls games are always so funny.
the boys strugggggled guessing our words.

some words we had were:
dry bar
partial hightlights
toner
spanx

you get the picture.

these molasses cookies were the bomb. moist & fluffy!
here is the recipe decided last minute that they needed to be dipped in chocolate.
so i melted and dipped.

pippa loved her new christmas blanket i purchased for $5 at old navy.
also below is my newest ornament purchse.
my new fav ornament on the tree this year.

i loved my black snowman vest.
$7 at goodwill...ummmmm goodwill you REALLY think your cool pricing your stuff so high?
not cool. that stuff is donated for goodness sakes.
i'm really thought $7 for a nasty hilar christmas vest from 1992?

merry christmas eve!
can't believe tomorrow is CHRISTMAS!
i know i say that every year, but every year i mean it.
we did some last minute shopping today for 2 hours to long.
never ever go out on christmas eve.
holy zoo.

merry christmas.
have a wonderful night.

Baking Christmas.

what is your favorite christmas tradition?
one of mine is baking christmas treats.
one of my favorite christmas treats are sugar cookies.
it's a process, but that's why i love doing it around the holidays because it's an evening event.
we turn on a christmas movie and bake.
we did it every year with my mom and now we do it.
carrying on the tradition.
it's fun when your married because you can choose which christmas traditions you want to keep or can

mr. 's work of art ^^...the most amazing snowman you ever did see!
so funny.
it's just sooooo funny how serious he takes "decorating"
he doesn't take home decor seriously AT ALL
he could care less about what curtains i put up
howevvvvver he loves his cookie decorating ...
i decorated mine with classic green frosting & white sprinkles
he said my cookies made him .... (he started to snore)
he started to snore! "zzzzzzzzzzzzz"
he said they were a snooze fest
he said mine were so boring they were putting him to sleep
whoa, calm down cookie critique man!!
gosh i love it when i'm not the only crazy one in the relationship.

building a gingerbread house with mr. is another story.
he wanted to buy his very own house like last year, however i thought it would be wise to save money and share/decorate one together.

we invited our friends over to join in on the fun tradition.
they were a little shocked with andrew's passion for gingerbread houses.

we have a tradition of making sugar cookies and gingerbread houses.
we did them on two different nights, but figured they were meant to be all on one post.
we turned on christmas vacation while we built our houses.
AND
we turned on santa clause while we baked cookies. (oh and speaking of cookies, here is the recipe)
last year we collected a bunch of our favorite holiday movies.
we have just about every one in christmas history. well not that many, but it's close.

hope you all have a wonderful christmas eve eve.
