TX Happens.

i went through my phone pictures...i decided i needed to catch up on recent/old happenings.
here is a quick catch up.

we hit up a bbq place before mr.'s softball game.
we heard about tin roof. this place is so cool.
the atmosphere was spot on.
live country music. outdoor picnic tables. loved the decor too...and the random OR sign (go, ducks)

tin roof is totes texas.
texas knows how to eat & i really appreciate that.
thank you texas for feeding me so well.

how bad is that ^ ombre? this poor girl came into the salon with a mess up "ombre" from another salon the day before. luckily i hate lines and chunky highlights (which sadly happens to be on almost every texans head) so i knew exactly what she meant when she said she wanted a melt.

while our husbands were at priesthood we treated ourselves to thai & shave ice.

pips has a love for slides and swings.

pippa loves to go on walks now...only because she knows it will end up at the park with a billion kids to lick and chase. she loves the park. she puts up a big fit and won't move a muscle when it's time to go. we have to pick up all 52.3 pounds of her to the sidewalk.

we facetime martha for her surprise birthday party...
bro in-law & his gf brought pizza & i made the "cake"

i made brownie cupcakes...filled with oreos and peanut butter.
after dessert i opened up shop & did bonnie's hair.

btw how great are bath and body's spring line?
loving my scents.
smells of summer. mmmmm can't wait...or can i?
i've heard enough bad things about the humidity...i'm a little scared.

Galveston.

galveston has been on our list.
my mom came and were going to go, but then ran out of time.
my siblings came and then ran out of time.
it was a top priority on the TX list of "things to do" ...then we heard things about g-town that didn't sound all that.
we were right.
brown beaches are not the most appealing thing on this earth.
it was a little trashing.
however the homes were cool...old "nola style" architecture.
i love old things. i thoroughly enjoyed driving down the streets awwwing over the cute houses.
the food was pretty good too.
visiting someplace new is always fun.

i told andrew that surprising me with a cruise and using Galveston as a decoy would be A-OKAY.
he laughed.

pippa took a pee in the ocean...i was a little worried that people would get mad. andrew says. their ocean is brown i don't think they care. i guess he has a point.
crawfish po' boy
hushpuppies. basically fried cornbread.
the coconut shrimp was bomb. so coconutty.
texas pride goes all the south. even to galveston.
this book! was hilar. we got a huge LOL moment in that boutique.
i may have gotten on amazon that night to buy it.
andrew picks up a book and says "hey, that's something your mom would say!"
i'm like what book is that? ^^ lol

i got a bag of candy. with some sour belts because i cannot find them anywhere!

overall it was an insightful day.
galveston reminded me of myrtle beach in south carolina.
but has a cooler beach town vibe.
down by the cruises was nice, however the area by the pier was slightly ghetto.
