NYC In Motion.

I made a video to always remember this amazing trip in the best city!!!!!
Loved the fact that I got to spend a week with Shayla and Benny!
You guys are the greatest for letting me crash on your air-mattress!
See you two next month :) :)
Check it out Here !!!!
I Love NYC.

NYC: Day 6

NYC: Day 6

Today we started it off with some good ol' church! It wasn't like any normal Sunday because Shayla's ward meets in at the Manhattan Temple on the 3rd floor...you go up an elevator, um cool city-esk touch. People in her ward are like mormon celebrities--actors/models/producers--CAN YOU SAY CHIC?! basically it was real classy. Kids dressed like they walked out of a Jcrew ad. Mom's dressed like they just came from Milan...which was the case for some. The men were all dapper and such.
Also something different about the ward in NYC is the choir is on steroids and they sound like our church has gone on Broadway! Ya know it't probably a big benefit having actual real broadway singers in your church choir.
Another different thing are these strollers in the halls, it's their version of a car in Manhattan.
Car seats and cabs just don't work, therefore you stroll to church.
THEN Lindsay met me at church and we headed to Brooklyn for a craft fair and flea market afternoon--something I have wanted to do FOREVER. There are many positives about hanging out with Lindsay BUT one of my favorites is that she is a foodie just like me!!! You know it will always be a tasty time when your hanging out with her!
 Blood orange dough...ummmm okayyyyy!!!!
Shopping eating while looking at this view was probably the best & coolest thing.

We took some uber-cool photos in our fav thing- a PHOTO BOOTH- did I mention how it was 100% free? Yeah Free! thats a rare occasion in NYC!
AFTER that blast from the past time, I met Shayla at Central Park for a little Sunday stroll.
Goodness gracious that park is splendid!
We may have taken a few outfit of the day pics!
SO I have this troubling problem- I forget where I place te lens cap...like a lot, a lot, a lot.
Look where we found it this time?
 Yeah that's a problem.
I seriously considered taking one of these carriages around
making it a total Maid in Manhattan moment!
Jlo I love you.
Well goodbye NEW YORRRRRK!
I leave you tomorrow and don't want this to be the case, but I am excited to be home with my Mr . I hate your stinky creepy subways, but I will miss your tasty yummy treats. I hate your crowded beyond crowed streets but I love your overly cute shops. My feet hate you but my tummy loves you. I want to come back soon and soon won't be soon enough. I think we need to make this a once a year ritual...at least once a year! I finally got around on my own...sorda, does having really good directions count? I got from the JKF airport to Columbia University all on my own with no cell phone service-
I'm proud BUT that doesn't mean I want to do it again.
I am getting a super shuttle tomorrow making it the best $30 I will have spent all week.
Don't forget your obsessed with you friend,
Lauren

NYC: Day 5

NYC: Day 5
Today we slept in late to recoup from our 113 block run last night. We got our butts to Levain Bakery for one of their overly talked about cookies. We got 3 out of the 4 flavors.
Okay where do I begin about these cookies:
First off the bakery is the size of my closet and the menu has 11 items on it.
It's crowded full of cookie-monsters.
See picture below for the jammed packed-ness? But this isn't a surprise or anything because EVERYTHING in NYC is PACKED FULL TO THE MAX of PEOPLE.
Subway at 5pm ring a bell?
We got our cookies and got our bench and went at it.
We bit into a thick chunky warm cookie.
OH and I had to try their banana bread because it's one of my favorite things that I never get/ or make because Andrew hates banana bread.
IT WAS TASTY and thick. Did I feel thick after eating it....hmmmm.
I feel like NYC goes over and beyond in everything. For an example they take a simple chocolate chip cookie and explode it to a whole new level. Beyond one's imagination--
Who knew a chocolate chip cookie could be so gooey yet dense yet hot yet crunchy!! ?
They were out of their sticky buns at 12pm, don't get me started on that disappointment.
SOLD OUT!!!!! WHAT?
OKAY so then after we freaked about a cookie we went to our next freak-out moment.
 PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We both have this weird complicated love for the phantom.
What can we say we have a thing for bad boys!?
Had to the resist the cheesy phantom merchandise.
Not going to lie I wouldn't mine a phantom mask for the costume box...next year's halloween costume?
We knew all the songs and I cried a little...I'm a romantic.
We were so torn between Raoul or Phantom?
It's a hard choice.
Yup our smiles should give you a little indication of how we felt about this show.
We have basically waited our entire lives to see it.
I mean the movie just doesn't count, although I love IT!
Our seats sucked BUT it didn't matter cause we may have moved down to some empty seats that were 100 seats closer--"don't mind if I do"
Do you ever dream of Phantom or maybe just being able to sing like Christine?
"THAT'S ALL I ASK OF YOUUUU!!!!!!!!!!"
 mmmmmmmm k....
THEN after that we sang ourselves to the four-story Forever21 in Time Square.
It was quite the extravaganza as far as Forever21's go.
THEN  headed to Benny Boy's show/gig/famous going to be at Madison Square Garden next year.
Quote me on that.
Okay so Benny or you can call him Ben is a little bit of a....hmmm what do you call him...freak of nature. Excels in everything sorda thing. Okay so anyways he plays the cello HELLO! and he is in a band I know there is some fancy name for it other than band but for this blog we will keep it simple.
I do like fancy things but not so much fancy words.
We had a bomb dinner while we listend to classical gone hipster music.
It was a very NYC...eating dinner in little cafe listening to local signer song writer.
Totally bought Micky's cd hopefully it's not another Scotty Rotten.
THEN on our way to the subway we spotted this food truck!
WAFFLES at 9pm WHY NOT?
These waffles put Off The Waffle to shame Eugenie's.
AND that ended our night...
OH and the Duck game of course once we got home.
What a game!!! I looked like a freak screaming. REALLY STANFORD? REALLY!
NOW for our sad attempt of Outfit of the Day:
Told ya--sad.
Better photos tomorrow maybe.
