I am so excited that I got an internship with the Pre Classic. It's a huge event in Eugene and brings world class athletes to track town USA. For those who are not track fans, it's one of the premier track and field meets in the United States. Every year it draws a world caliber field to compete at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. (via wikipedia) AND for more info on the event check out runner's space.
My group is in charge of press conference the day before the meet. On the actual day we will be heading up the social media and will be Tweeting away in the media tent. I am going to be the Chief Assistant photographer and working with photographers from Paris and NYC (UM SO EXCITED). I will be working down on the track, getting up close and personal with the athletes. I can't believe I get to work with the media from around the world, this is such an opportunity that I am so grateful for.
At the end of the term I will be putting together a multi-media piece of the event as well as a report with my group on what worked well and what didn't from our plan that I will post.
