Let's Talk Oscar.

Sunday was spent awing over the glamorous movie stars.
After some thought these stars are on my list of Best Dressed 2012:
Absolutely loved Jessica's entire look. Her hair is amazing, the color is stunning. She is such a natural beauty, wearing minimal make-up. Plus I LOVED her in The Help.
Michelle Williams is one of my favs because she is simple, yet so PRETTY! She has the best pixie cut in Hollywood. This coral (NOT red) dress was by Louis Vuitton.
I love how humble and shy she is in interviews. Remember when she wore the daring mustard dress? She has always been one of my style icons.
Octavia Spencer  totally killed it in this AMAZING dress that was so slimming.
She knows how to dress her curves-I LOVE THAT!
NOW for the dresses I am a little iffy about:
I love the clean chic look, but I hate the hair. She looks like a statue.
Okay, I am confused why Viola Davis has been getting so much praise for this look. I don't get the matchy matchy green. I am all for her natural hair (she usually wears a wig), but matching the shadow and earrings AND dress is just a little to much for me.
NOW for worst:
Hey the prom queen called and she wants her dress back?
What's up with the leg? What's up with her looking like she hasn't eaten since summer? This look is odd because she usually looks flawless.
NOW for some dresses I adored:
I love bows, so this one I obviously adored right away.
I love black and white and I love the high neck with the low back.
Well that's it for my Oscar favs, ?'s , worst, and adored.

The Vistors.

This past week my brother Jake and his wife Jenny came for a visit! It always fun when they come into town. I wish they lived here for many reasons, maybe one day:)
Here is what the week consisted of:
 Dinner at Mazzi's
 Ice Cream at Prince Puckler's
 Lunch at Cafe Yumm
An afternoon at our favorite place! Aveda spa for pedicures
 We love the tea.
Reading magazines and eating See's chocolates=Girls Day
A stop at Trader Joe's was a must for this Utah girl to stock up on some necessary items.
It's Monday again! Where does the time go? This past week was super busy with school and family. The stress doesn't stop there, it continues this week with 2 midterms, 4 papers, and another home move for Anthro! I keep telling myself "one day at a time".
Only 2 weeks left until break.
Breathe.
CANNOT WAIT!

It's No Secret.

It's no secret why I am NOT skinny and here's why:
I love food. It's a problem. It's a love/hate relationship. The end.
p.s. June is the best place for breakfast! So yummers.

Interning Away.

This term I have been interning for Anthropologie! I have been working with the Visual Display Coordinator. I wanted to show what I have working in the last few months:
This week is the home move aka changing the entire store. Out with Winter in with Spring! We are working on all new displays. Here are some pictures of the cactus we are making:
First cut out the shapes, then paint, then glue, then stuff, then DONE.

Here is one of the finished cactus pieces:
Cactus's are all over the store, with white pots. I love the clean simple look!
These are old sheets torn, then coiled by a drill, then dyed. I will post the finished look soon!
Some sketches, I am in aw every time I work with the display designer, she is so talented.
The art room, where it all goes down.
Lunch Break! I love that Paradise Bakery is right around the corner.
I want to get some for my house!
 Spring inspiration board.
My apron ends this blog post on the best internship my creative juices could ask for. I am learning a lot about design and displays. I love how every Anthro store is different. If you didn't know: Anthro comes out with an inspiration book each season. This book is filled with colors, textures, and stories. The display coordinator interprets the inspirations and then creates. This is how Anthro accomplishes it's uniqueness factor in each of it's stores world wide. Isn't that cool?!

Closet.

I am working on my closet... it's almost done!!! Organizing is a nightmare, considering it looked like I was a hoarder when I started. Can't wait for it to be clean and organized. I hope you made it through your Monday, mine was a struggle.

Is it Ethical to be a Ghost?

Ghost tweeting is a hot topic in the social media world. For those who don't know what ghost tweeting is, you are not alone because I didn't know until I took J452 (i.e., my public relations class). For those who do not know, it's when someone (e.g., celebrities and politicians) hires a person to tweet for them .  Now that you know some background on what ghost tweeting is, let's get to the dilemma.

Why ghost tweeting?
- Celebrities, politicians and top executives don't have the time or the writing skills to tweet.
- They find that tweeting is beneficial to stay in communication with their fans, voters and customers.
- They want to participate in the benefits even though they don't have the time; therefore, they hire a team or a person to do the tweeting for them.

Politicians like  President Obama use ghost tweeters. When he was a candidate he hired a social networking team to do all of his tweets. He continues to use a social-networking team to keep up with his tweeting feed.

Is ghost tweeting ethical?
I believe it's fine to ghost tweet as long as you are following the PRSA rules of ethics. PRSA believes that honesty is one of the professional values, that states, "We adhere to the highest standards of accuracy and truth in advancing the interest of those we represent and in communication with the public."
That being said, if a practitioner tweets for their client without the public or followers knowing then that would be unethical.
It is understandable that clients do not feel comfortable tweeting for themselves because of their writing skills. It makes sense that a politician wouldn't have the time to tweet 24 hours a day.

The article in the New York Times, by Noam Cohen, suggests that everyone has opinions whether ghost tweeting is ethical. According to Joseph Nejman, former consultant to Britney Spears, there are a lot of hypocrites on the issue. “It’s O.K. to tweet for a brand,” he said, remarking how common it is for companies to have Twitter accounts, “but not O.K. for a celebrity. But the truth is, they are a brand."

I agree with Joseph Nejman; if companies are able to tweet about their brand without being criticized, then celebrities should be able to too. There are many celebrities such as Kayne West, 50 cent and Ashton Kutcher who all use ghost tweeting. Ghost tweeting is unethical when a client hires a practitioner to tweet without the public knowing. I don't think it's fair to the public to be misled to who they are following on Twitter. I know that would like to know who is writing the tweets.
Ghost tweeting is an online ethical dilemma because of those who are not following the rules of ethics. I believe in being honest. You can still ghost tweet and be honest at the same time by stating in a tweet that you have someone tweeting for you.
