Eugene, OR.

My friend Mary and her friend Jess (who is my new friend) came to Eugene couple of days before our mutual friend's, Emma, wedding. I gave them the ground tour in a day. Doesn't take long to get through a Eugene tour. We hit up U of O campus, then ate lunch on the river at McMenamins. Then to Autzen for Eugene's one claim to fame, I take that back, it's actually Hayward Field. Then we went to the Rose Garden and then to Sweet Life to finish the day.

All in all great day.

As we walked around campus I had flash backs of me running to class in the rain with my research paper just printed from the library holding it  close to my chest hiding it from the rain drops.  I have memories of coming out of my digital arts class with my friends Rachel and Olivia laughing about or professor's lecture and how we didn't understand one thing. I walked down memory lane going to Martha's office at Oregon Hall asking her co-workers financial aid questions and stealing food from fridge and taking advantage of free printing. OMG years of anxiety about student loans and grants.

One of worse classes I took was in the building above. SCIENCE. holy crap I hated those labs. my brain hurt so bad trying to memorize every single bone of primates. PRIMATES, who cares about PRIMATES?!? really though, why are we tortured with pre-reqs?

We went to the Rose Garden because we like roses.
We are girls, dreaming of having our own rose garden. one day.

Sweet Life--this is a total Eugene place--so I had to take the girls here to top off the Eugene tour.

we came home from sweet life and came home to joe and sarah making s'mores--oven style.
so we had a couple of those too.

This picture may not be a very good one BUT this cake was so delish. i love banana bread, therefore i LOVED this banana cake.

It was so fun to see my hometown though new eyes. Jess & Mary pointed out so many things that I hadn't realized / taken for granted. They kept talking about the TREES and the GREEN and the FOOD. They were shocked about the wild blackberries and the rivers and farms. It cracks me up because I was so use to it all I just thought that's how it was, but now I see how different and "cool" I mean that literally and metaphorically.

Next post, EMMA'S WEDDING.
