my cousin (who i hadn't seen since my wedding! time flies) came into town.
gym. shopping. pedicures. nasa. pool. hair...oh & food (duh it's the chilton blood in us.)
^^ these were just a few of the things that took place during the week.
we went to benjy's for dinner...a really cool, fab decor, highly recommended on yelp restaurant.
then for dessert THE CHOCOLATE BAR...duh.
for some deep dish pecan pie.
with an emphasis on DEEP dish.
the decor is pretty hilar at the bar. |
this is how i do
okay so this is how i do "painted on highlights"
i take sections, rat it, put some in foil and some in plastic wrap so you have different variation of light and dark to give it that natural effect.
then once it gets to the lightness i desire i wash it out and apply my toner depending on what you want. for my blondie cousin i did 9b, 9n, 9v
the key is small pieces. this is my fav look on almost everyone. it's low maintenance and looks super natural. double thumbs up!
the final product:
one morning we put on our suits and headed to our gym spa (our gym is not your ordinary gym, it has a an aveda spa and cafe) we got our toes done....we won't talk about the tip confusion.
after the spa we got our tan on at the pool.
we ate mexican at Chevy's and shave ice at Bahama Bucks.
we went to NASA!
it was interesting...okay little boring...BUT so glad i can now say i have been to nasa and all the glory that comes from that. ha.
but no really i am glad we went cause it was on my houston list.
it was kinda cray cray.
space is cray.
it was like the movies but REAL...ha.
i realized being an astronaut is not as glorious as thought it would be.
their offices looked like mechanic shops.
for all those houston tourist, here is my rec:
get a groupon
go to rudy's bbq after
and your only 30 mins from galveston so maybe just do nasa and the beach all in one day...cause both are shortish trips...not an all day thangggg.
food for thought...did ya know there is a farm at nasa. |
see what i mean? |
pic of a selfie |
very touristy. |
after nasa we went to tiny boxwood
now i know where they get the tiny from...HOLY SMALL PORTIONS.
it was so un-texas like.
i have had this restaurant on my foodie list for awhile.
however i did feel very chic eating such small portions.
my rec:
don't go for dinner
a perf lunch, brunch place with the girls.
DON'T take your husband's or boyfriends here...unless you want them to hate you.
for dessert we got my cuz some sprinkles!!
the best. end of story.
then we ended the trip and flew all together to OREGON for the annual family reunion.
can't wait to share the family reunion recap video.
Oh my gosh Ben NEEDS to go to NASA immediately! He would love it SO much. I want to fly down so you can do my hair - it's getting desperate up in here!
