I got home from Oregon three weeks ago AND I'm
just now getting to the recap and highlights of the trip:
--TCBY in Eugene is a must whenever in-town BECAUSE they have daily specials unlike other TCs in the entire country...I swear by this. Okay so THURSDAY special is Shivers for $2.50 for that huge crapper. Blizzards have nothing on Shivers. So late on Thursday night I told Jess&Mary we HAD to go and there was a bit of a hiccup. They closed 6 minutes early!!!!! I was so mad I pulled up to the window and pretty much demanded a shiver because they were still open. They said their clock was 5 mins fast...REALLY people!? how can you have a place of business AND a fast clock. Not cool. In the end I got my shiver. First step talking your way into staying open second step law school.
We also had to get some Voodoo action. always. always.
--Lunch looking over a river and a bridge is always a treat when your coming from a desert. Did you know its been in the 100's and usually not the low 100s for the past solid 5 months? just a little fact for ya about my current living situation.
I strolled the rose garden looking a tad bit homeless. |
I love a crazy cute girl named Penelope.
--My mom and I woke up...before the teens...and went on a bike ride around the river and through the woods to Original Pancake House for a delish breakfast... then strolled to the bookstore for some b-day gifts for a certain someone who's birthday is in September.
I told Joe&Sarah that we NEEDED to go get some bulk candy at Winco..sour belts anyone?
They 110% agreed with me.
I stalked up on $40 worth and posted a pic on Instagram feeling really proud that I was bringing back all this candy that they don't have in the desert. Welllllll, aparently I just don't know this desert I speak of very as well as I had thought BECAUSE my friend from the desert said, "we have Winco here too" HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH!!!!!!! how did I NOT know that? I was never excited about being wrong before.
Joe was trying "portion control" while at Winco.
Little bags to insure overindulgence.
--I took some senior pictures of my sister on my last day...
more on that in another post. Hottie Senior Alert.
do you ever feel claustrophobic when everyone lines up to get off the plane?
It's always a little nerve racking at baggage claim because you know never really know if your bags will make it AND mine had a lot of food in it which felt like gold and might as well been because it cost me an extra $20 and a head ache for being over 50 lbs.
--I got off the plane and said two words...Cafe Rio.
there is a cafe rio only 3 miles from LAX so a def must stop.
I was starved and it was taco Tuesday.
--I thought I was being a good mom by brining home a special present for Pip BUT it turns out I was being a killer mom because Pip threw up 5 times for 2 days because of that rawhide bone. whoops. first time dog-mom over here...bound to mess up. Sorry Pips.
