Farm.

"one day in the country is worth a month in the city."
-unknown

we went back to Oak Glen for some harvest goodness. i seriously love Riley's Farm. it reminds me of Williamsburg. candle melting, cider pressing, colonial costumes. LOVE IT ALL.

this was our second time going. we went once for mr.'s b-day. it was charming and cooooooler.
a whole 20 degrees cooler.
it almost felt like fall at 77 degrees.
 ha

i'm seriously trying to get mr. to go again this month. trying and not succeeding.

i love the palm trees. they make me so happy. they make me feel like i'm on vacation 24/7 BUT here is the thing i sorta want some colorful leaves, boots, hot cocoa, and an oversized sweater. NOT 24/7 just one day. just one day of fall would be A-OKAY.

i don't need it for months not even a week. just a day would be good enough to get my fall fix. we don't get seasons here. would be terrific if i could just escape for a day into the current season. otherwise you don't even feel like thanksgiving is near, let alone christmas.

i'm loving the weather in the desert, just need a day of some crunchy red and orange leaves to quench my thirst for my favorite season.

then Mr. took a photo for a group of people. so funny. had to be there.
then pippa got tired of waiting. and got all dusty. pippa loves to sit in dirt. dusty dirt.
no, no i'm not. it's just the shirt.
i'm trying to get mr. to take a photo. ANOTHER photo!!!???
like it's tragic.
like it's WWIII.
like it's going KILL him to take ANOTHER photo.
holy crap. ya know, it's not that hard.

i know, i know, i usually  always go over-board with photos.
i realize it BUT there are far worse things to go go over-board on.

plus the little future kiddies will love see these pictures.
oh please, don't let these little arguments about taking too many pics be in vain.

so the story goes like this:

me: ohhhh haystacks, i love haystacks, can we buy one for our front porch???!
andrew: No.
me: whyyyyyyy?
andrew: they are $8.
me: so what...we can have them for halloween AND thanksgiving. so basically they are only $4.
andrew: no, we had them last year.
me: yeah, i know. they were so great i want them again.
andrew: no they will get the car all dirty and "haystackie"
me: okay, wow, fine, can we at least get a picture on the haystacks.
andrew: ughhhhh, why? we already took THREE THOUSAND pictures today.
me: oh my gosh, just one.
andrew: that's what you said 15 photos ago.
me: laughing, trying to deal with that married moment when you don't see eye to eye.
heather: got some good candids.
me: thank girl.

so here is my bomb. mr. thought photo-bombing was so funny. so i thought i would show him how funny they are.

pippa got a crowd going. i don't blame anyone. it was the cutest thing. homegirl was cracking us up playing with the cows. she would get down, then jump up. get close enough to sniff then jump back. classic pippa trying to play with every single farm animal. she is way to social sometimes.

chris purchased some delish root-beers for us. aren't bottled root-beers the best?
how prego does this shirt make me look?   flowy tops are cute on tall girls only. i just decided.

on our way to the car pippa spotted some more friends.
another cute from the world's friendliest dog.

note to self:
*farms are satisfying to the soul.
*have dr. laura on-call for some quick counseling-- due to: "making your husband smile too much".
*wear a shirt that doesn't make you look 7 months pregnant.
*plan on double the amount of time for pippa to say hi to every breathing thing she passes.
*get the chicken-pot pie not the BBQ.

hope you all make it to a farm or two this fall.
