The Perfect Gift.

so i heard about a book called 5: Where Will You Be Five Years from Today?
i really wanted it, but then never got it cause i didn't want to get to far ahead of myself; however, my friend, from my college days in journalism school, sent me a copy and I'm so so grateful because i love it...no surprise there since i love planning.

everyone needs this book.
and now is the perfect time to buy it with those new years resolutions we are all making.
it's a great gift for anyone and for any occasion.

i love the quotes/facts through out the book. here are some of my favs:

*Fired from their home improvement jobs, Arthur Black and Bernie Marcus created a business model called Home Depot and went public with their idea. just three years after losing their jobs, their annual sales were $1 billion.  (ummmm that's cool and a motivation for all those who have lost their jobs)

*At age 30, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos was living in a 500-square foot apartment. Five years later his net worth was $10 billion. (exactly why i started my 5 yr. plan)

*Five years...260 weeks...1,825 days...2,333,000 minutes.
what will you do with it? What could you do with it?

*Some people spend all their lives on a boring little island called the "Someday Isle."
"Someday I'll be happy.
Someday, I'll be happy.
Someday, I'll hike in Nepal.
Someday I'll build a log house.
Someday I'll have a great adventure."
Life is not a dress rehearsal. Life is here and it is now. Reach out and seize it, you deserve it!

there is author book the author writes thats called 10: What's on your top 10 list?
i also love this book toooo!
the reason i love these books is because they get you take action by writing down your goals, hopes, and dreams. there is something about actually writing down what you want. once you write it down it's the first step. sometimes i think & think but don't actually come out and say it. i hold in all my ideas, my deep thoughts of what i really want to do with my life.

"This is your life, your one and only life. Don't miss it." - Dan Zadra

like i said you should all buy one of these books to go along with your resolutions and new year goals.

i caught pippa reading up on goals too!
goal one: don't chew anything of my human mom's everrrrrr again.
so far she's not off to a good start on this year's resolution because i caught her chewing a hair brush.

my friend told me exactly where to buy these books...
this adorbs shop in Seattle.

i also loved this gratitude set...so i got it because one of my resolutions this year is to say THANK YOU more often. the set comes with a little gratitude journal. it's not just any journal either, it has 52 weeks to inspire giving thanks. it has 52 numbers where you write a person a week who you are grateful & it has quotes throughout all the pages & it has a section on how to write a "thank you" note.

also in the box it comes with four different styles of thank you cards.

all of these are fantastic new year's gifts to get yourself or someone else.
you will see a change in your thoughts and actions once your done with them.
so glad i have them on my shelf this year.

now allllllll that being said here are my
 top ten resolutions for 2014:

*write in your gratitude journal
(remind yourself of what's going right in your life, rather then what's going wrong)

*if it's not worth it then drop it
(if it needs to be done then do it, don't stress, remember "what's the worse thing that can happen")

*forget those that forgot you
(remember them as if they never hurt you & move on)

*be good to your body
(drink lots of water, cook more, bake less)

*listen to you
(don't be convinced, stand your ground, you know what you want & need)

*travel and see
(go to europe, go to europe, go to europe or somewhere else will be fine too)

*rest
(take time for yourself, it's okay, you don't always have to be doing something every second)

*put your name on it
(start something you have always wanted to start but kept saying "one day" to)

*speak up
(repeat yourself if you need to, don't be afraid to ask because you will regret it if you don't)

*educate yourself
(google it, youtube it, read it, find it... research it until you feel educated about it)

these resolutions are very broad, but in my 5 book they are very specific. i've learned to be specific with myself. i know ask myself "what exactly needs to happen in order for X to happen?"

a lot of my resolutions are reminders to myself of what i learned from 2013 ^^
and how to make 2014 better.

the perfect gift to give myself this year is______________
you finish the sentence.
