christmas morning growing up meant that we had to wait as lonnnnng as possible to call dad's office phone (his office is right next door to the mast bedroom) we were all up stairs in the big bedroom (we sleep all together every christmas eve since forever and watch The Grinch before falling asleep) we would call because we knew we couldn't go downstairs cause that's where the gifts were. it felt like an eternity to get our parents to wake up and come upstairs to call us downstairs for christmas to begin. we always walked down together to see if santa came and if the cookies were gone.
it was so magical. even when we stopped believing in white bearded man dressed in a red suit.
things haven't really changed even when we are older besides the fact that we don't start christmas until noon now. we ate a delish breakfast (christmas tradish) mom's cinnamon rolls, biscuit and gravy, "homemade" yogurt, and of course cider.
once we have food in our bellies we can officially start unwrapping.
lol our "to" and "from" are always a little creative competition. this was one of mr. ^^ |
such a great story about this ring mr. got me! i opened it up and then passed it ^^ around for all to see, every time we passed it around we discovered something wrong with it. like it was bent, or the stone was lose, or the prong was broke. so funny. so that was a returned gift, however i'm still out hunting for a ring to replace my "returned gift".
we missed pippa on christmas.
it was sad, but we were happy she was with the in-laws with lots of love and milk bones any
grand-puppy could ever ask for!
so grateful for all the good care she got while we were away from her for a very long 10 days.
